Is your environmental system ready for ISO 14001?
Seventeen checks across clauses 4 to 10 of ISO 14001:2015, including the two an auditor always opens with: your aspects register and your compliance obligations.
Certification is awarded by an accredited certification body, not by us. This tool tells you what a stage 1 audit would find. Nothing is submitted or stored.
Who needs it
Organisations tendering where environmental credentials are scored, or carrying duties under waste, emissions or water regulation. In security, FM and events the pressure usually arrives through a client's supply-chain policy rather than the regulator.
It also suits businesses already certified to ISO 9001 that want the second standard on the same management system rather than a parallel one.
What’s included
17 checks across 7 sections
Answer In place, Partly or Not yet for each. You get a score, a per-section breakdown and a printable gap list. Nothing is submitted or stored.
Frequently asked questions
Is 14001 worth it for an office-based service business?
Sometimes not, and we will say so. For a service business the aspects that matter are usually travel, energy, waste and what subcontractors do on client sites. If buyers score environmental management in tenders, certification pays for itself in bid access; if not, a credible aspects register and a few objectives may be enough.
What is the difference between an aspect and an impact?
An aspect is the part of what you do that interacts with the environment, fuel used by the fleet. The impact is the consequence, emissions to air. Auditors open here because a thin register makes every later clause thin.
Do we have to prove legal compliance?
Yes. Clause 9.1.2 requires you to evaluate compliance with your obligations at planned intervals and to know your status. A register with no evaluations behind it is the most common major nonconformity we see.
Can it run on the same system as 9001 and 45001?
Yes, and it should. Shared clause structure means one document set, one internal audit programme and one management review, audited together in a combined visit.
