Is your safety system ready for ISO 45001?
Nineteen checks across clauses 4 to 10 of ISO 45001:2018, including worker consultation and the hierarchy of controls: the two places audits most often go wrong.
Certification is awarded by an accredited certification body, not by us. This tool tells you what a stage 1 audit would find. Nothing is submitted or stored.
Who needs it
Organisations moving from OHSAS 18001, or from an informal safety system, to certification, and those whose clients now ask for ISO 45001 by name at prequalification. It is the natural next step after an SSIP assessment.
For security, events, FM and construction businesses the demanding parts are consultation with a dispersed workforce and control of contractors on other people's sites.
What’s included
19 checks across 7 sections
Answer In place, Partly or Not yet for each. You get a score, a per-section breakdown and a printable gap list. Nothing is submitted or stored.
Frequently asked questions
How is 45001 different from an SSIP assessment?
SSIP checks your health and safety arrangements against core criteria at a point in time, usually so you can get on site. ISO 45001 is a certified management system with worker consultation, internal audit and continual improvement built in. Passing SSIP is a good sign you are part-way there, not that you are ready.
We migrated from OHSAS 18001. What is left to do?
The clauses that catch migrated systems are 4.1 context, 5.4 worker participation, and 6.1.2 hazard identification as an ongoing process rather than a set of static assessments. That is where most of our gap analyses land.
Does clause 5.4 really mean consulting the whole workforce?
It means consulting non-managerial workers specifically, with time and resources provided and barriers removed. For a dispersed guarding or events workforce that usually means a mechanism that works on a phone, not a quarterly meeting nobody attends.
Can we certify all three ISO standards together?
Yes. One system, one audit programme, one management review, audited in a combined visit: cheaper than three separate certifications and the route most of our clients take.
